Summary: Merchandise Sales Associate is responsible for the overall revenue generation and guest satisfaction within the Merch shop. Exhibits a high level of product and company knowledge and provides exceptional service during each guest interaction.Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Provides friendly, courteous service to guests, management & co-workers Maintains high knowledge regarding companys products, availability, specials, services offered, current & upcoming events, etc; effectively communicates such to guests Greets & acknowledge guests as they enter the shop. Builds rapport by conversing with guests as they are shopping. Provides assistance as deemed necessary and offers each exiting guest an appropriate farewell such as Thank you and Have a nice evening Enhances guest experience through positive interaction Provide guest with product information and suggests additional and/or complementary products Processes merchandise sales and returns through use of point-of-sale (POS) system or cash register. Accurately processes payments in accordance to procedures for handling cash, electronic funds (credit card), discounts and travelers checks Maintains the appearance of the sales floor and surrounding areas by regularly cleaning surfaces, floors, doors, display areas, counters and equipment in accordance with department standards Folds, wraps and arranges merchandise. Securely bag guest purchases Makes recommendations to management regarding opportunities. Assist management in guest conflict resolution Routinely stocks, replenishes and retrieves merchandise & supplies. Notifies supervisor and/or management of low inventory Completes all opening and closing duties as assigned Assists in loss prevention by demonstrating proper security safe guards Assists in training new employees within the department in accordance with company standards Other duties in connection with organizational effectiveness as assigned by above supervisory staffAdditional Duties & Responsibilities: Adheres to all company policies and procedures as established in the Employee Manual & by the departments management Participates in continuing education and training to further knowledge base and career potential Cooperates with co-workers and management in an effort to continuously maintain organizational effectiveness Attends meetings and training sessions as designated Complies with uniform standards (i.e. Crew Shirt, name tag and neat appearance) Maintains regular availability, attendance and punctuality in accordance with weekly schedule & employment status Demonstrates core values of the company Other duties in connection with organizational effectiveness as assigned by above supervisory staffSupervisory Responsibilities: N/ACustomer Service: Provides exceptional customer service to each guest on every occasion in order to achieve customer satisfaction. Previous experience in retail and/or customer service setting preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience relative to the positionKnowledge & Ability: Ability to accept & follow instructions. Ability to consistency demonstrate trained techniques related to customer service, computer and equipment use and sales. Ability to read & understand instructions, product information & instructions for use. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American currency and quantities. Knowledge of the policies and procedures of the company and department. Ability to apply common sense understanding towards policy & procedure requirements, standardized situations and guest interactions. Ability to complete routine tasks in accordance with department standards with little variation. Ability to complete all assigned tasks satisfactorily. Ability to prioritize and multi-task. Demonstrates exceptional knowledge of company, products, and service standards.Communication & Other Skills: Ability to speak clearly and understand written and oral instructions. Displays exceptional customer service skills at all times.Physical & Mental Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a staff member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regular attendance is required. Routine completion of tasks for periods up to 8 hours or longer includes: Subject to moderate to extreme stress, requires ability to lift, bend, reach, carry, and push objects of various sizes and weights; often in excess of 10 pounds. Subject to noise and affects of various weather conditions (i.e. cold, heat, direct sunlight, rain, wind) and work is often performed in cramped areas depending on the number of guests. Frequent walking and standing in excess of 5hours per shift; use of hands and fingers in the manipulation of objects. Ability to multitask, prioritize and efficiently monitor various guests simultaneously in order to provide assistance. Business demand often requires long work hours, and at times short notice to report to work. Schedules require workers to work nights, weekends and holidays.Visual ability to distinguish color, distance & depth. Ability to adjust visual focus and use peripheral vision
