Role and Responsibilities


As an integral component of modern engagement environments, technology is a key ingredient of retail design. Working closely with the VP of Retail Design and Development to create solutions and innovations that transform the retail environment, this position is focused on the integration of technology in the built retail environment. Primary responsibilities include.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Technology implementation feasibility studies (vetting of conceptual ideas against implementation considerations)
  • Hardware specification and integration strategies (Developing specifications for costing/pricing and bidding)
  • Evaluations of new technologies for implementation (Looking at emerging technologies and how they can benefit our efforts)
  • Development of new applications of technology from existing technologies (custom solutions from off the shelf components)
  • Integration of software systems into the built environment (Sensor Grids, People counters, AI, etc)
  • Hardware content deployment strategies (Hardware and Software systems for content management)
  • Integration and development of Security Systems for physical assets and any implementation of technology in the built environment where it is an integral part of the performance requirement of the environment.
  • Background & Competencies Required:

  • Bachelors level degree with 8-12 years of directly related experience is required or industry certifications
  • Experience should include telecommunications industry product management, IT industry, wireless telecommunications position requiring management of product development, logistics, distribution, program management, and long-term product planning
  • Familiarity in wireless networking, routing & switching, mobile technologies markets, multimedia subsystem and broadband technology standards
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience managing vendors
  • Experience researching and resolving customer product development, launch, delivery, and logistics issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience developing presentations using a variety of PC applications methods.
  • Skills and Qualifications

    Necessary Skills and Attributes:

    Ability to work cooperatively and build strong relationships with peers and senior leadership locally and globally; sharing ideas and developing effective business processes in support of the company mission. Ability to collaborate and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, influencing across multiple complex organizations, creating effective business partnerships. Polished interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication skills in local market language. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, have attention to detail, and work effectively under deadlinesin a collaborative and matrixed environment.

    Physical/ Mental Demands:

    Work is generally performed in an office environment. Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal between 50% - 95% of work time, including prolonged periods of time. Requires considerable (90% ) work utilizing high visual acuity/detail, numeric/character distinction, and moderate hand/finger dexterity. The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time is under 25 pounds. Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenge, some language barriers, and project management deadlines. Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include printers, copiers, faxes, and other equipment commonly associated with an office work area. May require working additional hours beyond normal schedule. Travel varies depending on position. Consistently demonstrates a commitment to policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities.
