Treasury Wine Estates (TWE) is assisting Bronco Wine Company in sourcing Fine Wine Account Specialist to perform direct sales and customer service activities for the luxury portfolios of TWE and Bronco's Classic Wines of California.

About the role

The Fine Wine Account Specialist performs direct sales and customer service activities within a defined base of on-premise and fine wine retail accounts. We currently have several openings throughout theNorthern California region: South Bay and Peninsula

Major Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain buyer relationships at high profile and top volume accounts through direct calling efforts
  • Develop the customer base through superior knowledge of our wines, quality presentations and consistent servicing of accounts
  • Grow sales placements and revenue within each account by effectively targeting wine lists and retail slot opportunities
  • Execute new account goals by implementing an effective cold calling program and following up on qualified leads
  • Identify sales opportunities, challenges, and provide solutions
  • Effectively communicate both internally and externally to insure the timely dissemination of information, offerings, last call, vintage changes, etc.
  • Conduct staff education events and distribute educational materials in support of the portfolio
  • Execute and support supplier and company with tasting events, and promotions
  • Understand and comply with all ISO9001, HACCP and GMP requirements and processes
  • Call on all base accounts on a systematic basis as directed by Field Sales Manager
  • Know customer key personnel and maintain good rapport
  • Must comply with the Alcohol Beverage Control credit and collection criteria. Maintain 30- day collection compliance
  • Maintain proper inventory levels to assure adequate stocks and avoid out of stock conditions
  • Place and maintain current POS material
  • Achieve wine-by-the-glass placements, wine lists and house wine placements
  • Complete Daily Reports and forward to Field Sales Manager as directed
  • Acknowledge each months sales commission/quota sheet in the Employee Portal
  • Maintain Route Book and Presentation Book
  • Maintain proper inventories of all appropriate POS and samples
  • Must be physically able to lift and move 45 lbs. cases of wine. Possible situations may include;
  • lifting from a car trunk, building or taking down wine displays
  • Utilize technology (Hand held EDAs, Email, Cell phones) to provide efficient customer service, improved business turn-around times, and enhanced communications
  • Operate a motor vehicle
  • Assist Field Sales Manager wherever necessary i.e. special events, wine tastings, routing alignments, merchandising, etc.
  • Advise the Field Sales Manager of areas where the company can save money and promote company efficiencies
  • Keep all customers advised of sales trends, promotions, special pricing, etc.
  • Advise Field Sales Manager of all problems and opportunities. Recommend solutions
  • Maintain up-to-date information on route activity
  • Maintain current collections (Accounts Receivable) for all accounts
  • Reach or exceed all sales goals (Quotas) for territory
  • Maintain the highest possible rapport with customers
  • Work closely with all company employees to maintain a high standard of service for our customers
  • Job Requirements

  • 2-3 years of wine or beverage sales experience preferred
  • Effective time management skills required
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written required
  • Ability to travel (regionally) for work when required
  • Technically proficient
  • Must be about to lift a case of wine (45 pounds) up to 10 times per day and pass a pre-employment physical fitness test
  • Ability to travel (regionally) for work when required

  • An understanding of winemaking and viticulture techniques
  • Knowledge of wholesale distribution systems
